Seit Jahrhunderten werden die deutschen Bühnen von weißen Männern dominiert. Immer mehr Künstler*innen setzen ihrer Allmacht andere Ästhetiken, Narrative und politische Fragestellungen entgegen und tragen queere, trans*, Schwarze oder of Colour-Stimmen und -Körper in die Theaterfestungen und öffentlichen Räume. Dennoch bleibt ihr Status bedroht und fragil. „im*possible bodies“ schafft als #Festival der utopischen Praxis einen Möglichkeitsraum. Er versammelt und feiert reale, ausgeschlossene wie marginalisierte Körper und öffnet sich all jenen, die es noch zu denken gilt. Hier treffen #Kunst und #Aktivismus aufeinander: Wer darf sprechen, sich zeigen, bestimmen? Wer dominiert gesellschaftliche und künstlerische Repräsentation? „im*possible bodies“ steht für Schönheit und Verwundbarkeit, #Empowerment und Positionierung, #Solidarität und Allianzen, die offensive Verteidigung des Nicht-Konformen mit allen Wagnissen. Die eingeladenen Künstler*innen, Aktivist*innen, Denker*innen und Initiativen kapern mit ihren Performances, #Tanz, Workshops, Konzerten und Versammlungen den normativen Kunstraum, laden zu Hang-Outs, Sharings, zum B-runch und an die #Minibar, fragen nach dem Potential der #Queerness und cruisen durch die #Utopie – die für ganz konkrete Anliegen steht.

For centuries, German stages have been dominated by white men. More and more artists oppose their omnipotence with alternative aesthetics, narratives and political issues, bringing #queer, #trans*, Black and PoC voices and bodies into #theatre strongholds and public spaces. Nonetheless, their position remains threatened and fragile. As a #festival for utopian practices, “im*possible bodies” creates a space of possibility, congregating and #celebrating actual, excluded as well as marginalized bodies and welcoming those still to be conceived. It is a meeting of #art and #activism: who is allowed to speak, present, define? Who dominates social and artistic representation? “im*possible bodies” stands for #beauty and #vulnerability, #empowerment and taking a stand, #solidarity and coalitions, the active vindication of non-conformity at all risks. The invited artists, activists, thinkers and initiatives hijack with their performances, #dance, workshops, concerts and meetings the normative art space, invite to hang-outs, sharing, b-runch and the #minibar, and they explore the potential of #queerness, cruising through a #utopia – that represents very concrete concerns.
